Croup

We are experiencing our first case of croup. :(  I'm not loving it either!  Dr said day 3 and 4 would be the worst and today is day 3.  Hoping I don't have to take her back for the steroid treatment.

So this is how today has been- lots of holding and rocking!

He's got it!

It clicked!  He's got it and now asks to ride his bike EVERY DAY!  I love it!  It's even more fun when it's raining!

Piggies

Managed to put piggy tails in this sweet girl!  It didn't last long......

Registered

I finally registered for the Pensacola Half Marathon in November.  16 weeks to train!  I would love to run it in less than 2 hrs, but I'm not fast AT ALL and I'm okay with that!  So we will see!

Gulfquarium and friends

One of David's college roommates called a few weeks ago and they were going to vacation in the area....a couple hrs away.  We of course wanted to see them and meet their 2 little ones, so we met at the Gulfquarium since it was about the halfway point and we thought the kids would enjoy it!

It was a fun place, but since we just went to Sea World a few months ago- you just can't compete with that!  But still it was a fun day!

Checking out the dolphins from below

The sea lion show was FANTASTIC I have to say!

 Landon, Jackson and Matthew

Shelby is obsessed with aquariums!

Afterwards we went right next door for a yummy seafood late lunch!  YUMMO!

Too early to drive

As Jackson was out riding his bike- this one decided she wanted to learn to drive!  YIKES!

(Oh we also took off Matthew's training wheels.....umm yeah he's not as ready, but I think we will keep working on it!)

A little bike riding

Remember I said we took Jackson' training wheels off a while ago- as in MONTHS and he has refused to ride it.  Well, we talked him into it last night and he is getting over his fear! FINALLY!  He rode some more today and is getting better! He has some problems with getting started, but I think that is the hardest part!

Swim lessons

We have been taking swim lessons a few times this summer- both kids this time!  We just started back after a couple weeks break.

Jackson is getting better- losing his fear of water finally!  This is a HUGE accomplishment for this boy!  Compared to last summer he has really come leaps and bounds, but we still have a long way to go.  He is definitely our 'think about it' kid!  So if he would just DO it and not think about it - he would be fine!  That's why he isn't riding his bike right now bc the training wheels are off and he is scared!  That's the next thing we HAVE to battle!

So he will take a few strokes and he swims with his face in - the few strokes he will do.  He is getting more comfortable with floating on his back....although you can't tell from the picture!

Matthew on the other hand will probably be swimming before his brother!  He has mastered his front float, back float, bobbing, and hopefully will begin some stoke work soon!  But then again he is our NO FEAR child and we should probably take his training wheels off his bike now too!

Pensacola Beach Airshow

We enjoyed last Saturday on Pensacola Beach watching the airshow from the sand.  The Blue Angels are not flying right now due to budget cuts - so that was kind of sad, but the show was still very good.  I'm thinking next year we should jus get a hotel room on the gulf and watch it from the pool....that way we avoid the traffic!

Shelby enjoyed watching the planes too!

Library Story Time with the Blue Angels

We had story time this morning with some special guests- the Blue Angels.  What fun!

Here they are shaking their sillies out! :)

This was John and he is the pilot of Fat Albert pictured below.

And this was Scott.  He is actually the Supply Officer for the team.

Jackson was being VERY shy!  Matthew.....not so much!

Our House

Beware of a LONG post.....but here is our house!  We are almost all unpacked and most things are where they are suppose to be.  So here it is!

Here is our back yard.....we have a mess back here right now.
 Entry way
This is the hallway right as you enter the front door going to the kids rooms/playroom towards the left.  This is a view from Shelby's room actually.
Boys room is the first room you get to.

The bath is kind of across from their room.
 My painting!  lol

Shelby's room is at the end of the hall which I am glad bc it is the furthest away from the living room and the majority of the noise in the house!

The playroom is beside her room.

If you go past their hall - you walk through the dining area and there is another hallway to the left and that leads to our bedroom.
 Master bedroom
This is the first time in 9 years we have had a tv in our room- we barely use it but didn't want to get rid of it!  At least when the kids are sick we can throw them in our room to rest and watch tv- well Netflix.  We are opted to not get cable/satellite here and so far so good.  Ummm besides I am misssing Big Brother right now. :(
That door there leads to the back porch.
 Master bath

There are two doors to the right here- one after and one before the shower.  They connect and it is a U shaped closet that runs behind the shower!  Thankfully it is very large.  The toilet room is the door to the left.
Here is the dining as you walk past the first hallway and through the archway.  Kitchen is on the left/dining on right.

The laundry room and garage are off of that door from the kitchen.

The living room is right in front of the kitchen, so it is basically one large open room housing the kitchen, dining and living rooms.  The tv set up is actually going to change - we just ordered a bookcase with doors to hold all the DVDs, equipement, etc.  I think the TV will actually move to the fireplace more so that it is more centered in front of the couch.  Then  the bookcase thing will go on the other side.  That bokcase in the picture will go in the playroom closet to hold puzzles, coloring stuff, play-doh, etc
We didn't need another table, so we actually made this breakfast area into an office area.  It fits the area well.

So there it is.....Welcome to our home!

What I miss most about my Kansas house???  Our storage room!  Boy were we spoiled with that!
