Elfed - Hip Hop Style!

The last few days

have looked like this. Matthew has been clingy, cranky, feverish, and fussy....all over a couple front 2 teeth! Yay that 1 broke through this today and the other one seems to be right behind. Then we will have 4 teeth down and only 16 more to go....AHHHHH! This poor little guy has had a time. I think his brother had about half of his teeth by now - almost 15 months he is!

He even curled up on the couch downstairs about 4:30 and took a little snoze all by himself! And yes he has been in pj's all day, but it was just one of those days! And I do love the one sock on and one sock off look!

New stuff

I've been meaning to put this up, but here is our new piece of furniture! I have been wanting something to go in the basment to hold books, stuff, etc! I really do love it and it completes this portion of the room. I still need to get a KC135 print framed and I need to get a box for my Gpa's American Flag that I want to put on the wall next to his military picture! Ughh - will this house ever be put together??

Here is a picture of the living area of the basement....the whole other side is toys, toys toys!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We started decorating the week of Thanksgiving this year - maybe bc we didn't even move into our house until the first week of December last year. Then we were knee deep in boxes for FOREVER before I tossed up a few Christmas decorations, a tree and tried to make this house look like a little festive!

Here is my brand new tree....my first bought tree actually! I do love it and I made it look all adult like upstairs decorated in just red and white! All new ornaments....shatter proof with little Matthew running around!

I decided baby Jesus all the other breakable wisemen, Mary, Joseph, and animals should be up high away from little fingers! I kind of need something to go on each side, but I think I have bought my limit this year, so my boys and their first pictures with Santa are up there too!

David had the idea to hang these extra ornament snowflakes in our opening from the dining room....in person it looks really good!

Just a few of my snowmen in my kitchen!

This is one of my FAVORITE Christmas decorations - it is a ceramic tree that my Gma Jackson made a long time ago! I have this in our bedroom and I love having it glowing all day!

Then there is our downstairs tree. This is actually my brother in laws OLD tree that he had a LONG time ago. So old you have to put in every branch and string all the lights! :) But I still love it and it is the kids tree! I made the lights all red and green and the ornaments on it are all the boys ones or ones that they have made! I really think it is sweet and I love remembering all the ornaments!

And then without killing himself, David got all our lights up outside!

So happy decorating to you all! I hope this season is filled with lots of color and fun!

Meet Steve - our own Elf

He was sent today from the North Pole and Jackson decided to name him Steve. He will be hiding out at our house until Christmas, watching the kids and reporting to Santa anything he might need to! :)

Just a rockin

I took this picture a while back...so sweet! This was my rocking chair when I was little and I love that my boys love it too!
Check out that lazy dog in the back!

I heart Shutterfly!

Shutterfly is an awesome company in my opinion! I have gotten several things from there including BOTH of my boys birth announcements, past Christmas Photo Cards, Calendars as Christmas presents, and Photobooks for gifts and for myself!! They are constantly running great sales, free shipping and sometimes I can even get a FREE photobook! I am in the process of creating a yearly photo book for each of our years since the boys have been born....what a great way to look back at such fun memories!

As Christmas is approaching, I had to go straight to Shutterfly to see what there new Christmas Photo Cards looked like! I found one I like, but I don't want to spoil the surprise! You can garantee that you will see 2 sweet little boys on there though! Oh how they melt my heart! To check all the cards out for yourself, you can go here for Holiday Cards and here for Photo Cards.

If you have a Blog of your own go here to fill out this form to receive 50 FREE Holiday Cards yourself! Very easy to do and how can you say NO to FREE! :)

Happy card making!

Did I make it??

I decided I should look at my New Year's Resolution List for this year to see what I had to accomplish in just over a month! Ahhhhhh!

You can read it here if you would like.....but summing it up below!

Here are the results:
- I lost all of my Matthew baby weight successfully and actually had to go buy new jeans bc I lost more weight! YAY - check
- I started running again and just completed my 2nd half last month! - check
- Coupons....umm I would say half and half on this one. I have been using coupons, but I haven't gone crazy with them and I haven't saved my family thousands this year! :)
- Learning to use my Gma's sewing machine.....so far = FAIL! I guess I better go pull it out!
- Matthew's scrapbook is complete - check
- not buying spontaneously - somewhat check......I try not to go out with my two monsters children which helps me with this one!

So I guess that is it! I doubt I am going to get that sewing machine back out, so I better put that on my list for next year!

Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving is fastly approaching I thought I would just list some of the things I am thankful for!

- for Jesus and having my name in his "book"!
- for my wonderful husband who loves me unconditionally....through my crankiness, OCD, and "fits"!
- for 2 healthy, beautiful sons that are they joy of my life!
- for the Air Force....although there are times I get aggravated, they are good to their people and my husband has a wonderful job!
- for my husbands employment and being able to pay our bills on time each month.
- for being able to stay at home with my babies.
- for our wonderful church and the support that they are for me when David is deployed.
- for past friends, new friends and friends we have yet to meet!
- for our families and how supportive they are!

What a great time of year it is to look back and reflect on what we have to be thankful for!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I hope you have a wonderful day filled with turkey, family, friends, and laughter!
