Yesteryear

This was my little rocking chair when I was small. I remember seeing pictures of me watching cartoons in it as a little girl and now I am so glad that my little one can do the same!

Before and After

I use to LOVE books...not so much now!
This takes him all of about 20 seconds to tear down.......
Maybe one day he will actually want to read them instead of just making a mess!

before

after

He is not even 2 yet???

Jackson is heading into the terrific - no TERRIBLE 2's full force! I can't turn my back for a minute before he has got himself into something. It is a good thing I got pregnant in December b/c I might be rethinking this if we were thinking about it now!
I hear uh-uh -uh.....and turn around to find him STUCK in the rungs of the rocking chair. Not his leg, not his arm, but he is stuck at his waist. aiyaya How did he get like this....by his feet or by his head. I finally figure it out and get him out of there - and I didn't even have to call for back up this time! David isn't flying today, so he would be available - but I really don't want to have to call the Flight Room twice in one week needing help getting Jackson out of _____ (you fill in the blank).
I was too worried about getting him out to take a picture but here is where he got stuck. It is not a very big opening.

I seriously believe this is only the face a mother could love.....look he is thinking of something else to get in I bet!

Is there a baby in there??

I looked down today and for the first time I saw the start of a baby bump....YIKES! This seems a little sooner than with Jackson! I guess despite all the "all day sickness" the little guy/girl is growing right on schedule!

11 weeks

Belly Laughs

This is my MOST favorite sound that comes out of Jackson's mouth! I love love love to hear him laugh from the bottom of his toes! He was watching Ratatouille......my boy loves a Disney/Pixar Movie!

What to do on a windy Mississippi day??

Fly a kite of course!
Jackson was very into watching it fly and of course wanting to do it all by himself! It really was a great day for it! Too bad he lost interest and decided he would rather play on the playground.

Here he is trying to chase the kite!

Boys will be Boys

Jackson had a little adventure today...well maybe I did more than he! He got in a little trouble after throwing a FIT and I sent him to his room. I needed a break. So I go to check on him a few minutes later and the door is looked! Oh Great! So I tell him.....Jackson - open the door. He is trying to just open it.....he doesn't understand me say turn the lock.

No luck. So I get a clothes hanger and I am going to pop the lock that David always does in about a half a second. 5 minutes later no popped lock and I am giving up. Oh I will take the door knob off. Great idea right?? So I think. Well let me tell you about locked door knobs - just taking the door knob off doesn't automatically unlock it. So now I have a door knob and screws in my hand and Jackson has a door knob on the other side playing. We now have a situation. I can see him through the door knob and he is playing playing....trying to put the door knob back on. And I can't figure out what to pop to open this darn door.

Alright- I will call the Squadron and pray David hasn't taken off yet. He has. Erica starts asking some of the other guys what I should do and then she finds me good ole Johnny Grimes! Johnny is our neighbor and he says yeah he can come and help me! (I was about to run across the street and see if he was home anyway, but I know now it was Patrice that was home and that would be the blind leading the blind I imagine!) Anyway, Johnny is on his way and what do I do - I get the lock popped! YAY!! Call Johnny and he doesn't answer.....then he gets here and I feel bad he came a whole 2 miles to help. But he does end up helping....he placed the door knob back on, but this time put it on backwards. Now there is NO WAY he can lock himself in his room, but I can! HAHA

And as Johnny is about to leave...Patrice calls him b/c she is wondering why he is parked at our house. Oh no - please tell her we are not having an affair! :) She thought the whole thing was rather funny and I am sure that David will have a good laugh when he gets back on the ground! And a note to all the single guys in the flightroom - don't laugh at me....you never know what your kids might do to you one day! :)

Yay I took pictures....I may want to use this against him one day! You may be able to see his head....he was trying to put the door knob back in.

And here is my buddy Johnny! Thanks a BUNCH!

Introducing....baby #2

I went for my first appt today and it was rather exciting getting to see Baby Akins for the first time! David was thrown into a flight that he couldn't do yesterday due to weather, so he was unable to go with me. All in all everything looks really good and praise God for just 1 baby in there! The technician said I am measuring right on time making me 9 weeks and 5 days and having a due date of Sept 12th. Heart rate for baby was good at 167 beats (a lot faster than Jackson so maybe a girl this time). She said baby looked good and I heard the heart beat which sounded super strong.
Although I remember looking at Jackson's ultrasound pictures from 11 weeks and this baby seems to be more developed. Baby had full legs and arms where Jackson seemed to look more like a Gummy Bear. And those arms and legs were just a moving.....seems like another active child I will have on my hands!
Also haven't gained a pound - in fact have lost a few, which isn't surprising since I haven't eaten in the last 4-5 weeks. But my appetite is slowly coming back....after my appt I was starving and went by McDonald's for a burger and fries. MMMMM how healthy! :)
I have another appt in about 3 1/2 weeks, so stay tuned!

Here are the pictures of baby! Don't you think s/he is very cute! Looks like Jackson to me! :)

All sorts of stuff!

Wow! I have been a horrible blogger lately! Well, and a horrible wife, mother, friend, etc! This baby is doing a number on me and it does seem to feel like he/she is starting to let up some! A quick update on me....I am now almost 10 weeks and the last 4 weeks have been rather painful. My energy is gone, but the worst part is the sickness. Baby gummybear is not as nice as Jackson was to me. I seemed to stay sick all day- trying any old timey trick I have heard of. I recently called the Dr and said I needed something stronger, so I am on Zofran now, also taking Vit B6, Ginger pills, and using Seabonds. All in all I am starting to get better. I seem to have a good day or two and then a bad one or two. But I will take that! I actually have my first appointment this Thursday and will be getting an ultrasound, so tune back in for pictures!
And David has been such a blessing....Mr. Mom I should call him. He will cook dinner, get Jackson ready for bed, play with him, clean the kitchen...anything when I feel bad. I just love him! Although last night I semi cooked in the first time in over a week (and actually ate...since I hardly eat enough to keep a toddler alive). That felt like a step in the right direction!

Now Jackson...here are some pictures of him recently.

Remember he has back-up babies now. Well he saw one up in the closet, so here he is will 2 babies. I have done a better job of hiding back-up baby now!

Oh and we are potty training...not something I really feel like doing and not going full force, but some. Lets just say David is SO much better at this than me. Do you think the AF would give him leave to potty train?? I doubt it! :)

Lastly- we went to Walmart and they have their Spring Gardening stuff out and we saw kid size gardening tools, so we had to get them for him. He loves them and they come in all bright colors...so go out and get them for your big kids!
