To die for good

that's what these pretzels are!  And they aren't hard to make at all!  I doubt 8 will last long, so I may need to double this recipe next time!  Or make half salted and half cinnamon sugar!

1st day of Preschool

First day of Preschool here he comes!  He was SO excited and had to wear his Captain America shirt.  He marched right in, put his stuff away, refused a picture with his teachers, and started playing.  Bye Mom!

Miss Sassy Pants wanted her picture taken too!  So here she is on the first day as the only child for 4 hours!  And mom took advantage of that one child thing and took her for the 2 shots she was due. :(  Now she's in her crib dreaming of butterflies and flowers.....I should really get busy doing something productive!  Nah- maybe I'll make another cup of coffee and enjoy the silence.  Because it won't last long and I'm okay with that!

Poor pup

Harley's little eye got injured this weekend- could have been from anything they said.....blade of grass, piece of sand, rubbing it on the carpet.  But he has a pretty bad cornea abrasion.  So now it's eye drops several times a day, recheck on Wed and the lovely 'cone of shame' for him. :(

1st Day of 1st Grade

My sweet, sweet 6 year old started school today!  Despite the nerves of a new school and meeting new friends, he got to his class and settled right in - EXCITED!  I hope he is having a great day and this will be the start of a great year!

Jackson and his teacher, Mrs. Conley
 At his desk!  Love him!

Little Helper

She thought she was helping.....silly girl!

Almost time

to start 1st grade.  We met his teacher yesterday, Mrs. Conley, who seems super nice.  She's been teaching 21 years, 18 of those 1st grade and 9 of those at his school.  So why am I so nervous....here's my list:

- it looked like a BIG kid class....books on the desk already.
- the school is 3x the size he went to last year.
- this is the year of reading.....I hope it's not too hard for him!

And this is him and his new BFF, Eli!  Our families got here the same time, daddies work in the same squadron, live a couple neighborhoods away, our kids are the SAME age (everyone has a buddy)....Matthew even has 2 kids his age, and we just mesh great!  I am sad they aren't in the same class, but with nine 1st grade classes the chances were slim!

Here's to out LAST day of summer vacation!

Blankie

Nana Akins finished Shelby's blankie!! LOVE!  And it's so soft!  I'm recruiting her to make Shelby a quilt for her twin bed from all her baby bedding.  Yes we have a while- I'm hoping for her to stay in her crib til......middle school! Okay maybe just another year and a half or so!

And the winner is.....

Yes, Matthew!

We had our Library End of Summer Wrap Up today and Matthew won the overall grand prize for 0-5 year olds!  This was AFTER on the way there I talked to the boys about how there were going to be prizes, but that they probably wouldn't win, blah, blah!  Matthew has been nice and is sharing his bag with his brother and sister!

All the kids got a little prize - some sour worm gummies and a shovel (for the  Dig into Reading theme), bottled water, and they had face painting and balloon art!

School starts Monday for Jackson, so our summer is coming to an end!  sigh
