The Naval Aviation Museum

We hit up the Naval Aviation Museum for an hour before they closed one afternoon.  We didn't do much- the kids hopped in a few planes and then they played in the play center.  We will be going back to look around some more and take in all the history!  Thankful for free air conditioned activities some days!

Story time

We made it to the local library yesterday to sign up for the summer reading program and see what fun things they had going on this summer!  They didn't disappoint even though it is a tiny library compared to the one we had in KS!

We hit up story time this morning and bc the library is so small they have it across the street at the State Park at the amphitheater!  The views were spectacular- right behind us was the waterway!  And little sister just loved the music!  She just stood there bouncing up and down and clapping!

And tomorrow they are having a reptile guy come....the boys should love that!

Loving the beach

We hit the beach this weekend for some fun in the sun!  This was the boys 2nd time since being here, mine and Shelby's 1st!  We stayed back the last time to unpack boxes!

Little Miss loved it all- the water, the sand!  I think we have a beach baby on our hands!

Matthew loves the sand and the water- but likes to be carried out by Daddy (he's a little nervous about the waves).  And no pictures of Jackson bc he was ALWAYS out in the water!  I only had my phone on me, but I hope to take the camera back next time!
This is how Shelby and I spent the last hour we were there - hanging out under the umbrella!

We are STILL waiting on our 2nd shipment from the house- fun times I tell you!  And then I'll try to get some house pics up!  At least all the beds are here, right??

Pensacola Lighthouse

We took the morning on Saturday and decided to do a little sight seeing.  We went to this lighthouse which is actually on the Naval Air Station (I'm having a hard time not calling it a base.)

It was very interesting to say the least!  The lighthouse keeper stayed in the house connected to the lighthouse.  Every evening he would have to carry up 2- 5 gallon buckets of oil to light the lighthouse for the night!  They had one there and it was HEAVY!  This lighthouse has 177 stairs.  I can't imagine that being my job every night!  I'm thinking he was in great shape!

Our view from the top!  Matthew and Shelby couldn't go up because there is a height requirement.  David stayed down with them.  Next time we go - I'll stay down and let him climb the 177 stairs!

 Going back down!

We made it

to our new home that is!  It was quite the adventure!

We left Kansas on a Monday after we closed on our house and picked Jackson up from school.  We dodged tornadoes and headed to Oklahoma to spend the night with David's aunt and uncle.  We ended up staying an extra day and night waiting out bad weaher.

We all drove to Tennessee the next day and stayed the night.  The next day we split - David headed to Florida and the kids, dogs and my mom and I headed to their mountain house in Tennesse.  We stayed there for a coupole days before going to my parents house in NC.

While there I got together with some girl friends and painted this:

And the little girls got together:

The boys had a great time doing things like Chuck E Cheese, mini golf, and fishing.

After a week we headed down to Florida and are now currently living around a TON of boxes!  We got a lot done today, but we still have a ways to go!

 Here's are new house:

And of course our new favorite area:
