Rejected yet once again!

David and I watched Evan and Avery the other night so that Andy and Traci could go to the Haunted House on base.....no I was not a taker in this. I HATE scary things. Why would you want to put yourself through that?? Anyway, I got some shots of Jackson trying to steal a good night kiss from Avery. She was not having it. Who thinks I am going to have issues when he gets a little older??

Being good....

and he goes in for the kiss.....

Rejection! Sorry Jackson.

Halloween Party

Our Luna Moms Club had a Halloween Party/get together this afternoon. We dressed all the kids up in their costumes and of course ate some yummy food while we chatted! It was a good time and the kids enjoyed running around being crazy! So here he is in his 2008 Halloween Costume.... Jackson- the scary Dragon! Well he thinks he looks scary, but he really looks kind of sweet! :) Here are a couple of Avery and Evan also.....as Pebbles and Bam Bam! Too Cute!

All bundled up

My mom and dad bought Jackson this cute Columbia jacket when they were here last! It has a great hood on it and this morning during Stroller Strides he actually kept the hood on! Thanks Memaw and Papa!

New shirt and pants!

I went to Old Navy and got Jackson some new clothes...mostly jeans and a few other items on sale. I found him this cute Halloween shirt for $2.50, so I couldn't pass it up! It is a super cute skeleton with a jack-o-lantern for a heart! And these pants I found for $3.99! What a deal! I just love this picture b/c he is into such big boy clothes now! Where goes the time go??

The Three Amigos!

David and I watched Avery and Evan on Saturday so that their Mom and Dad could go on a date! I went over while they were napping and they slept for 2 hrs while I was there.....what easy babysitting. After they got up and ate - I brought them over to play with Jackson! Here the three of them are: Jackson with his lovey, Evan with his favorite thumb, and Avery with this cup I got for Jackson that she carried around the whole time! What sweet toddlers!

Pumpkin Art

We had our Luna Moms Playgroup today and Jackson made some Pumpkin Art with the help of Traci! Here is his little picture! They used their fists for the pumpkin part and their thumb to make the stem! FUN! :) I think we definitely have some little artists in our group!

Thanks Gma and Gpa Akins

Jackson got another package today! He seems to get more mail than David and I! :) His Gma and Gpa Akins sent him the silliest chattering teeth for Halloween and he LOVES them. Not to mention that I think he has about broke them b/c he thinks all toys should be banged on the floor multiple times to get them to work! They also sent candy (I think this was for ME) and a great little Nemo book for toddlers!
Thanks again!

Here are the chattering teeth- I'm still trying to figure out if they are cute or scary!

Here he is in amazement!

Reading his new book

And here is a little video of him and the teeth - you can see his devilish smile from behind the thumb!

Sandbox Fun

Jackson has really been enjoying his sandbox lately now that the weather is not 100 degrees with 99% humidity here in the deep south of Mississippi! I was taking some pictures of him Sunday and decided to look back at his Spring Sandbox pictures. My goodness how he has grown.....6 months sure makes a big difference in these first couple years of life!

This one is from Sunday.....
This is one that was taken in April I think.....so little hair and just looks like a baby! :)

Week 9 - Downhill from here!

I have officially started the 2nd half of training....although more intense, it is the beginning to an end! This morning the weather truly showed signs of fall and I almost ran in a long sleeve Tshirt, but I am glad now that I didn't! I am hoping that I will be able to run in shorts in Dec......I think I may get to hot otherwise!

Monday: Cross Training
Tuesday: 2 miles
Wednesday : Cross Training
Thursday : 7 miles
Friday: rest
Saturday: 9 miles
Sunday: I will rest!

Enjoy this weekend! Take time to enjoy the leaves starting to change color!

Cowboy Up

Traci and I were in Walmart blowing some time and some cash and she gave all the kids hats to wear! Jackson thought this hat was pretty cool and it did keep them occupied while we shopped!

Congrats!

Yes...Congratulations are in order! My brother called me tonight and told me that he and Robin were engaged to be married! I am SUPER DUPER happy for them and can't wait to have Robin as my new sister!

The Ants Go Marching...

I bought Jackson a Little People Music CD today with all these kids songs on there since he loves music! I had it on in the kitchen while I was cooking and he kept dancing to it....or in the song below marching! It goes through the 3rd ant, but it is basically all the same! :) Boom Boom Boom!

These Shoes are Made for Walking

This is just a cute little picture of Jackson wearing my shoes. He loves to wear anyone's shoes including his own. He throws a fit now when I take them off of him....and I don't know where he gets that from b/c David and I live barefooted!
He is also at the trashcan in this picture and yesterday he took off his socks and threw them away in the trash! I guess he doesn't realize we wash our dirty clothes!

Our Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

David and I took Jackson to the Country Pumpkin Patch in Caledonia today! We all had a great time and the weather was beautiful! I think we ended up staying about an hour and a half just letting Jackson play! This place has it all: pumpkins and gourds of all shapes, sizes, and colors, pony rides, a cornbox, a wagon full of cotton to play in, a hay bale maze, and hay rides! I think Jackson liked the cornbox the best which isn't too surprising since he loves a sandbox! We even bought a couple pumpkins and gourds to put in the front of the house since their prices were so reasonable! And get this - you pay on the honor system to a little box......reminds me of the good ole days! I think we are planning on going back Wednesday with some friends!

Some pumpkins were bigger than Jackson!

He finally found one his size.

Playing in the cornbox

Papa- I need one like this, so we can be twins!

In the cotton!

Jackson's 2nd Pony Ride

The Fam

Riding to the car with the pumpkins

This is what we bought - minus the scarecrow....we had him already!

Half Way There!

Wow! I am officially halfway through my training! It has gone by really fast, but I will have to say that I will be glad when it is over! This was a down week for me which was a nice break - although it seems like I am always under the weather on these weeks. I have been fighting this sinus drainage and a mild cough for about a week, but I honestly think most people around here are! YUCK!
David has also been running with me some which is a really nice change from me, my IPod, the inhalation of jet fuel, and the open road! Maybe one day we can train for a half marathon together!

Monday: rest - since I had to set up for MOPS I missed Stroller Strides
Tuesday: 4 miles with Jackson :( (pushing a stroller made up for Monday)
Wednesday: Cross Training
Thursday: 4 miles
Friday: Cross Training
Saturday: 4 miles
Sunday: I will rest!

The not so Love Birds today!

We pick at and call Jackson and Avery "boyfriend & girlfriend". They have this love/hate relationship and are like two peas in a pod! I watched Avery and Evan today for a little bit and observed the hate part of their relationship!

Avery was minding her own business and Jackson kept wanting to go up and love on her. She was having NONE OF IT! I got a little on the video (a little shaky at first- sorry) of her rejecting Jackson and him crying afterward. Oh toddler love can be tough!

Yesterday Traci watched Jackson for me to go to the dentist and she experienced the love part of their relationship. They were sitting next to each other on the couch and kept getting closer and closer. She thought they were going to kiss each other...which I have seen Avery kiss Jackson on the forehead before! :) Oh I don't think I am ready for this at 18 months!

Evan was off being a good boy playing and didn't make the clip! Sorry buddy!

Nuh Uh

Jackson's FAVORITE words right now are "Nuh Uh". If you ask him any question beginning with "Are you..." he will shake his head and say Nuh Uh, except if you ask him to go outside. In this case he runs to the door all excited! It 's pretty cute and I finally was able to get it on video! Take a look!
And you can see him ignoring me which is the norm for an 18 month old.... I think. Oh and that shovel has not left his side hardly....he even napped with it today!

Update: Baby Isaac

I wrote several weeks ago that I was keeping up with a blog about a lady who was carrying a baby with many abnormalities. She is a woman of strong faith and even though Drs said that he wouldn't likely make it - she chose to let God be the judge of that. They continued to pray for a miracle. Well Baby Isaac was born yesterday and he only lived 16 minutes. My heart completely goes out to Stacy and Spencer.....I can't even imagine! Please continue to pray for this family as that can be the only way to get through the death of a child I think.
Their blog is linked to mine, so please take a look - "He Will Carry Me". There is now a picture of Isaac and he was a beautiful baby!

The Headless Horseman

Since it is getting toward Halloween time I thought I better try to find Jackson's Halloween bucket. I thought it was in his closet, but just remembering to get up there and look for it was a battle! But I found it and he has since been playing with it and carrying it around everywhere...especially on his head. This morning he decided to ride his pony with it on his head.....silly silly!

Jackson's new friend

My mom and dad sent Jackson a package today and it had a little friend in it for him! I received the mail when he was eating lunch, but it wasn't long after he got down that he found his bear! It was so cute- he carried it around all afternoon! It is super fuzzy and soft and I think he likes it! He is sleeping with it tonight in his crib! I think his lovey has found some competition!

Carrying around his new buddy! It has an Alabama shirt on. He is from the Alabama (Country Music Group) Museum.

Loving on his buddy!

I told him to kiss his bear and he did!

7 Weeks Down - 9 More To Go

This week was a good week for training - the weather once again stayed nice and cool!

Monday: Cross Training
Tuesday: 2 mile run
Wednesday: Cross Training
Thursday: 6 mile run
Friday: 2 mile run with my hubby, Cross Training
Saturday: 8 mile run with gel once! :)
Sunday: my day of rest!

Today I had my 8 miler again and last week I was completely dead from it! I guess when I look back I had reason to be with no food in my system and not taking a water break! So today I carried only one gel pack and about 5 miles in I took it right before stopping at the Fitness Center to rehydrate. First off all- it all comes back: those gel packs are gross to me. I have had them before biking in college. YUCK! But after I got it down and hydrated.....it really helped! About 10 minutes later I felt like I had this HUGE burst of energy! So my last 2 miles were at Jenny/Lindsey speed! Yes for those of you who watch Little Einsteins that is "Super Fast"!
I decreased my time by 10 minutes from last week! YAY!! I have come to realize I will not break a 2 hour half marathon, but if I can keep up a 10 minute mile and finish in 2:10 I will be satisfied. But wait if I take enough gel I might be SUPER SUPER FAST!
Also David took Jackson out on the bike trailer with our neighbor Johnny riding his bike too while I ran and that was fun to periodically see them and they were checking on me!

Have a great weekend! David and I are going to see that movie FireProof! It's a date! Thanks Traci and Andy for keeping Jackson for us! And thanks again Sarah for watching him on Thursday for me to run! You guys ROCK!

Adventures in Mothering

Adventures in Mothering is our theme for MOPS(Mothers of Preschoolers) this year and I am coming to find this true more and more each day! If we can wake up in the morning asking what today will bring and the adventure our children will bring us - I think it can help you keep your sanity a little bit longer!

Sunday was one of those days where it seemed like we were on a roller coaster! As we were about 5 minutes from walking out of the door for church, Jackson decides to shut his bedroom door and lock it. Yes lock it. Just in the past week has he learned how to open all the doors in our house and so if you visit you will find Child Protectors on all the doors he isn't suppose to get into. Well I had no idea he figured out the lock and maybe he didn't either! :) Luckily David was able to unlock it with a handy little tool rather quickly. Thank goodness he was here, b/c I don't think I could have been as lucky! So now he has a Child Protector on the inside of his door!

After lunch he decided to HELP me fold clothes! He is always trying to get into the dryer and Sunday he was successful. He managed to climb in and throw all of the clean clothes on the floor!

I actually called my mom to tell her what he did since from what I hear I did the same thing as a child. And yes she thought it was very funny and continues to tell me that I am getting EVERYTHING I deserve! But as I was on the phone with her, he got out of the dryer and it got very quiet. So I went to find him hiding from me in my closet. Yes, he regularly plays hide and seek with me without letting me know first!
