Jackson is learning to write his name....where has the time gone?? He's almost 4, will start preschool next year, and is just growing up right in front of my eyes! Such a sweet and gentle spirit he has.....
Looks like he is going to be a lefty for sure!
I just dotted his name, so he could trace it (I helped him with the first line, but the second line he did all by himself!) I thought he did very good! It won't be long and he will be writing it on his own I am sure!

Brothers and Buddies
The boys fight like brothers, but sometimes they play like buddies too! What a sweet blessing they are to us!

Lucky - the dog....
Jackson decided to put Lucky to bed in Harley's dog bed. Night Night, Lucky!
Jackson left the room, Matthew decided Lucky needed to be up, and Harley decided he wanted to take a nap! Jackson was not happy when he saw this!

Pizza Party
We had the Robey's over for dinner this week for a Pizza Party! Ages of kids were, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5! Crazy huh?? I think they all had a great time making their own pizzas and afterwards making their own ice cream sundaes!
Jackson had to wear his train hat!

Resurrection Cookies
This recipe was in my MOPS Mom Sense magazine and I thought I would share! Such a neat idea to do with kids!
(If possible it says to make the evening before Easter)
You'll Need:
1 C whole pecans OR 1 C mini choc chips for those with food allergies
1 tsp vinegar
3 egg whites
Pinch of salt
1 C sugar
Ziploc bag
Wooden spoon
Tape
Bible
1. Peheat oven to 300.
2. Place pecans of choc chips in bag and let children beat them with the wooden spoon to break into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was arrested, the Roman soliders beat him. (Read John 19:1-3)
3. Let the child smell the vinegar before putting it into a mixing bowl. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross, he was given vinegar to drink. (Read John 19:28-30)
4. Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus gave his life to give us life. (Read John 10:10-11)
5. Sprinkle a little salt into eat child's hand. Let them taste it and then brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that Jesus represents the salty tears shed by Jesus' followers and the bitterness of our own sin. (Read Luke 23:27)
6. Add sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because he loves us. He wants us to know him and belong to him. (Read Psalm 34:8 and John 3:16)
7. Beat egg white mixture with a mixer on high speed for 12-15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed. Explain that the color shite represents the purity of those whose sins have been cleansed by Jesus. (Read Isaiah 1:18 and John 3:1-3)
8. Fold in broken nuts or mini choc chips. Drop by teaspoons onto a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus' body was laid. (Read Matthew 27: 57-60)
9. Put the cookie sheet into the oven, close the door and turn the oven off. Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door. Eplain that Jesus' tomb was sealed. (Read Matthew 27:65-66)
10. Go to bed. Explain that they may be sad to leave the cookies in the over overnight. Jesus' followers felt despair when the tomb was sealed too. (Read John 16:20-22)
11. On Easter morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow! On the first Easter, Jesus' followers were amazed to find the tomb open and empty. He is risen! He is risen indeed! (Read Matthew 28:1-9)

These boots are made for walking.....
I finally broke down and bought Jackson some rainboots....I couldn't beat the price: clearance of 60% off and then an additional 30% off of that! I should have just paid full price months ago bc he H.A.S.N.O.T taken them off yet!
I took this with my phone and it is awful blurry :( But his are blue cammo.
And note: the cool way to wear them are with your pants legs bunched up above them...or so that's what I am told!
So I figured I BETTER go buy little brother some since he is my shoe fanatic anyway. Poor boy has a tenny tiny foot...he MAY be close to getting into a 4. I went ahead and bought him a 5/6 bc that is the smallest size they had and at least he will get a LOT of wear out of them! He was very excited when he came home from MDO to see his little surprise!
His are green with bugs all over them!

We love the Zoo!
Especially when it is warm enough to go in Feburary! We had 8 inches of snow last week this time and today it is in the mid 70s! So out of the house we went and met up with LOTS of friends at the zoo!
Jackson and his buddy, Dillon.

More snow
The weatherman was right....more snow was in the forecast for us. The 6 inches we thought we would get, turned into about 8 on top of what we still had on the ground! I am officially OVER snow! We did manage to get out and play some in it and I can't believe they actually played longer than it took me to get them all dressed! It's a miracle!

The Hatfields vs The McCoys
Our Youth at church went to a lot of work to put on this years Valentine Banquet! The theme was the Hatfileds and the McCoys! We bought our tickets, dressed the part and they did the rest - to include watching our kiddos for a couple hours!
The stage was set, the food was great (homestyle : serving salad, fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans, rolls and desert) and the entertainment was outstanding!
We were on sides from the get go (David and I on the McCoy side) and it was all set up for a little friendly fued! We had 7 games to see who would win: couples horse racing using stick ponies, wheelbarrow races, tractor tire race, shooting the tin cans off the fence post with Nerf Guns, sunflower seed spitting contest, horseshoes using toilet lids instead of horseshoes, and a pie eating contest! David and I participated in 3 of the events and we can proudly say the McCoys WON! :)
Here is a little view of the set up!

We took the boys to Build A Bear today for an early Valentine's Day gift! It was lots of fun!
Jackson decided on a doggie.
Matthew decided on a bunny.
Jackson helped bring doggie and bunny to life!

Snowy Day
We had our 2nd snow fall of the year this past week. We ended up with about 6 inches, although because of the wind, we had some areas with grass showing through and then areas over a foot!
The boys
This is how Matthew played in the snow. He has had a TERRIBLE cough and I thought it was best for him to stay indoors. He was not happy with Mamma!
